KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) on Thursday observed the 66th birth anniversary of Bodofa UN Brahma as Students' Day. The day was observed by district, anchalik and unit committees across the State and outside. The Secretariat of BTC and Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) also observed the day in Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar and Sanjari Nwgwr in Dhemaji respectively.

The central committee, ABSU, observed the day at Thulungapuri, Dotma in Kokrajhar district. A meeting was also held where students and people took part. As part of the programme, the president of the ABSU, Dipen Boro hoisted the organizational flag while the Director of UN Academy, Krishna Gopal Basumatary garlanded the statue of Bodofa UN Brahma.

ABSU president recalled the relentless contribution of Bodofa towards the down-trodden people who united them to fight against injustice. He said that merely taking the name of Bodofa will not fulfil his dream of making the Bodos a great race in the world, but everybody should follow his ideas and philosophy. He called upon the people to follow what Bodofa had taught.

Meanwhile, the officers and staff of BTC Secretariat observed the day by garlanding the statue of Bodofa in front of the Secretariat, Bodofa Nwgwr. Secretaries of BTC, NC Basumatary, DN Hazarika and A. Barman and Joint Secretary S. Baglary as well as official staff offered flowers at the statue of Bodofa.
