UDALGURI: The People’s Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement (PJACBM) and All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) organized a mass rally for a separate Bodoland state here at Udalguri. Thousands of people gathered from Baksa, Sonitpur and Udalguri and joined the rally displaying placards. Rakesh Boro, the chief convener of PJACBM, inaugurated the mass gathering at Nalbari playground and he expressed hope that the separate state demand would be fulfilled soon. He also stressed the need of mass unity among the people.
B. Anjalu, the general secretary of NDFB, reiterated their stand on separate Bodoland state. Addressing the huge gathering of people at Udalguri Nalbari playground, Pramod Boro, the president of ABSU, said that if the BJP government could give justice to the people of Ladakh by creating a Union Territory, why had Bodoland not been created? He urged the people to remain united to fulfil the dream of Bodoland. UG Brahma, UPPL president, and Govinda Basumatari, NDFB (P) president, also addressed the gathering.
