NALBARI: The induction and oath-taking ceremony of the first batch of MBBS at Nalbari Medical College was held on Friday. The programme was inaugurated by State Public Health Engineering, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship and Tourism tMinister and MLA of Nalbari constituency, Jayanta Mallabaruah and he was joined by District Commissioner of Nalbari, Varnali Deka, SP of Nalbari, Sudhakar Singh, VC of Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Prof.Prahlad R. Joshi, Principal of Nalbari Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Dr Babul Kr. Bezbaruah and Superintendent Dr Madhab Ch. Rajbongshi and other distinguished guests.
The State Government has officially announced the beginning of classes for the new session from today in three new medical colleges viz., Nalbari, Kokrajhar and Nagaon medical colleges. While speaking on the event, the minister advised the budding physicians to serve the needy people with open heart since these are the people whose hard-earned money has been invested via tax in the making of the medical college. He also suggested them to participate in the Assam Government’s insightful event ‘Amrit Briksha Andolan’ to be held in the mid of this September for a greener and better tomorrow.
Nalbari DC Varnali Deka also advised all the students to be dedicated, hardworking and avid learners. She have a call to all the future doctors to carry out their duties faithfully in the days to come. She asked them to extend a selfless hand wherever and whenever they get a chance to serve. Later, the Principal of NMCH conducted the oath-taking ceremony of 89 newly-inducted students and wished them for a successful academic round ahead.
