Berlin:  Ace Assam actor Adil Hussian will now be gracing the screens in Germany as the Prakash Jha-directed drama 'Pareeksha' starring the actor will be showcased during the eighth edition of the IndoGerman Filmweek that will be held in Babylon, Berlin.

More than 20 films on the themes of women and men in transition and upheaval will be screened at the eighth edition of the IndoGerman Filmweek from 24–30 September.

Jha's film touches upon the periphery of the subject of the Indian education system and its shortcomings – an issue that has always required in-depth handling. 'Pareeksha' portrays the hardships of life and class divide in education -- themes unique to Indian cinema. The film is set in the present time and portrays how the education system is inherently flawed and not everyone gets equal opportunities.

Apart from 'Pareeksha', which will be the opening film at the prestigious film festival, another Hussain film -- 'Nirvana Inn' -- will also be screened.

Apart from these, some commercial Hindi films such as Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 3' (2019), Rani Mukerji's 'Mardaani 2' (2019), Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Bala' (2019), and Sushant Singh Rajput's 'Shuddh Desi Romance' (2013) will also be screened at the festival.

Anant Mahadevan's 'Mai Ghat: Crime No 103/2005' (2020, Marathi), highlighting women who fight for justice in their own ways, will also have its German premieres at the grand festival.

It is to be mentioned that the prestigious festival has also been organizing weekly live talks with selected filmmakers and performers ahead of the IndoGerman Filmweek.
