Adya shraddha of litterateur Brajendra Kr Brahma performed in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The adya shraddha of noted writer and former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), Brajendra Kumar Brahma was observed on Friday by the Bodo Sahitya Sabha at the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) field in Kokrajhar where people from all walks of life attended and paid floral tribute.

As per the program, BSS president Toren Boro hoisted the organizational flag at the Sabha office - Rupnath Brahma Memorial Bhavan, followed by a floral tribute to the poet by Brahma’s wife Kausalaya Brahma. A memorial lecture on Charan Narzary was held. A memorial magazine was also brought out on the occasion.

The chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Hagrama Mohilary, deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, ABSU president Pramod Boro, Kokrajhar DC Partha Pratim Mazumder, SP Rajen Singh, and other dignitaries attended the adhya shradha and paid floral tribute.

Recipients of several literary awards like Tagore Literary Award, Sahitya Akademi Award and Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award, the former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) died on December 5 at Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar. He was in his 80s and is survived by his wife and two sons. A souvenir Great litterateur Brajendra Kr Brahma was also released on the occasion.
