Afreen Islam of Duliajan secures 8th rank in Arts stream

NAHARKATIA: Afreen Islam of Duliajan secured 8th position in the HS (Arts) exam, 2020. Appearing from St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Duliajan, Afreen secured total 468 marks out of 500. She secured 86 in English, 93 in Alternative English, 95 in Economics, 98 in Logic and Philosophy, 96 in Political Science and 84 in Sociology. The Principal of the St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Father Paulus Kullu expressed his satisfaction over the result of Afreen and attributed it to the efforts and sincerity of the teachers and cooperation from the parents in imparting quality education to the students.

Afreen Islam is the daughter of retired employee of Gas Management Services department of Oil India Limited, Bakbul Islam and Parveen Islam. Afreen attributed her success to her family and teachers of St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School. She expressed her desire to become an administrative officer in the future. She is planning to pursue her degree course with Economics as the Major subject.
