DIBRUGARH: After three hours of persuasion by Superintendent of Police, Srijeet T, district health workers, Sujata Gogoi of Circle Office and local people, including her husband, Sahera Begum, a resident of Panchali area allowed the authority to collect her swab sample for COVID test.
Sahera Begum and her husband live in a two-storey building along with three other families at Panchali area. The district administration declared the building as containment zone after two inmates of the building tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, it has become mandatory for all inmates to undergo swab testing. The health workers though collected swab sample from the residents of the building, including Sahera Begum's husband, Sahera had vehemently protested against her swab collection.
The authority, however, with the help of Sahera's husband convinced her after three hours of persuasion and collected her swab sample for COVID test. The district administration, by declaring the entire building as containment zone, has restricted entry and exit of the residents from the building.
