Aged vegetable seller electrocuted in Digboi Charali Bazar

DIGBOI: Vegetable vendor and resident of Digboi Charali Bazar, Dhukhi Singh (of around 72 years of age) was electrocuted on Friday early morning in the market place.

The victim is survived by his wife, a daughter and his grand children.

According to Charali Bazar committee sources, while cleaning his shop, the businessman came into contact with the already exposed live electric wire fallen on the road amidst the market and got killed on the spot.

"We have been complaining for years to replace or mend the exposed wires but the cries went unheeded and finally led to the disaster today," alleged a close-by grocer .

Meanwhile, a team of officials from the Power department attended the site and assured the public of addressing the issue addressed soon.

Meanwhile, the market remained suspended till 11 as the businessmen condoled the demise of the aged vegetable seller.
