LAKHIMPUR: Currently, under the Central Government’s “Soil Health and Fertility” scheme, the Agriculture Department in Lakhimpur district has launched a pilot project to test the soil health in the district. Through the initiative, the goal has been set to carry out soil testing through the school so that the students can be attracted to agriculture sector in the days to come. For this purpose, Kendriya Vidyalaya, located at Lilabari has been selected to implement the project in Lakhimpur district.

On Wednesday, a high-level team of the Agriculture Department, accompanied by teachers and a section of students of the school under the supervision of the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Assam and in collaboration with the Lakhimpur District Agriculture Department, collected soil samples from the fields of farmers in Potapukhuri area.
