Agriculture department intensifies drive against pesticides in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: Widening the department’s drive against the distribution and sale of unregistered/banned insecticides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers, the District Level Task Force Team of Sivasagar District Agriculture Department inspected premises of various fertilizer and pesticide shops in Sivasagar town.

The team inspected the outlets and asked them to strictly adhere to the departmental rules and regulations. The inspecting team also collected samples of the pesticides for testing the quality of the pesticides stored for sale. The team also made the traders and a section of the public aware about the proper use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

The team comprised District Agriculture Officer (i/c) Asif Bora, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Amrit Saikia, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (Fruit Preservation) Runima Mili, Agriculture Development Officers Minakshi Gogoi, Rituraj Sonowal and Gyanjyoti Buragohain, Media Expert Debashree Diksha and Deputy Inspector of Agriculture Horen Deori.
