LAKHIMPUR: Agriculture Minister-cum-Guardian Minister of Lakhimpur, Atul Borah visited Lakhimpur district on Saturday with a daylong programmes.
During the visit to the district, the minister took part as an external evaluator of the first phase of the Gunotsav, 2023. For this purpose, the minister arrived at Panigaon Model Higher Secondary School, a leading academic institution of the district. The school authority received the minister with warm welcome. Then he inspected each and every classroom of the school and gauged the academic and innovative talents of the students. He also inspected the teaching-learning materials prepared by the students in addition to evaluating their academic performances. He then took part in an interactive session over various academic matters with the teachers and students of the school along with their guardians. He also took the mid-day meal with the students. During the visit to the school, the Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka and district officers of the Education Department.
Then the minister arrived at the Paddy Procurement Centre, set up at Food Corporation of India godown premises, located at Japisajia near North Lakhimpur town, in order to take stock of the situation of the same. There he interacted with the paddy selling farmers regarding the issues and prospects of the Paddy Procurement Centre. Thereafter, the minister inspected the Amrit Sarovar Project, implemented at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lakhimpur office complex.
Later the minister held review meeting with the district administration, Police Department, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Departments and other departments of the district. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and other administrative officers.
