Ahom Sabha observes Lachit Divas in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: Under the aegis of Golaghat Town Committee of Ahom Sabha, Lachit Divas was observed on Tuesday at Mahabir Lachit Borphukhan and Bagh Hazarika Samannay Kshetra at Bengenakhowa in Golaghat. The programme started with hoisting of flag by SurendraNathRajkumar. Thereafter, lighting of lamp in front of the portrait of LachitBorphukhan was done by Golaghat District AhomSabha president RudraGogoi and executive president Md. JalilurRahman. The open session of the programme was cancelled due to the demise of former Chief Minister TarunGogoi. Tributes were paid to the great political leader and statesman, TarunGogoi in the programme. In the programme, retired professor of Furkating College, DrTaraliGogoi, and Principal of MihiramSaikia HS School, Titabor, WajidurRahman were present as distinguished guests.
