TANGLA: An ailing journalist, social worker Dhaneswar Rabha, an inhabitant of Kacharaital village near Kalaigaon of Udalguri district associated with an vernacular daily for more than a decade passed away after battling with kidney related ailments and after being recently diagnosed with COVID-19 at the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital) on Sunday morning. He was 38. Sources said Rabha was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) a medical condition describing the gradual loss of kidney function and while undergoing dialysis was infected with COVID-19.
Rabha was also working as a Para Legal Volunteer (PLC) under District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) Udalguri besides being involved in green revolution under Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Udalguri.
Various organizations and institutions including Tangla unit of All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Asom Jatiyatabadi Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) , Udalguri chapter of All Koch-Rajbongshi Students Union(AKRSU), Udalguri chapter of All Rabha Students Union (ARSU), Tangla Media Circle, Tangla Press Club widely condoled his untimely demise .
He is survived by his parents, wife, one son ,one daughter and a host of relatives and well wishers.
