DHUBRI: The All Assam Judicial Employees’ Association (AAJEA) announced their agitation programme against non-fulfilment of their pending demands on July 2.
In a recent special general meeting of AAJEA in Guwahati, it was resolved that if the State Government did not fulfil their demands within one month from May 25, it would have no other option but to launch peaceful agitation programme from July 2.
The agitation will begin with non-cooperation and pen-down programme and if the State Government did not come out with any solution, the movement would be intensified.
Talking to The Sentinel, general secretary of AAJEA, Anant Prasad said that resolution of the meeting had already been sent to the Secretary General, Supreme Court of India, PMO, New Delhi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, the Gauhati High Court as well as the Government of Assam, Judicial Department and the heads of office, every District Judiciary of Assam and the president/secretary of All India Judicial Employees’ Confederation.
Prasad further informed that Supreme Court directed the respective high courts to ensure the implementation of the recommendation of the Justice Shetty Commission within a period of one year.
Again due to non-implementation of the same, the Supreme Court of India vide judgement dated 16-03-2015 in I.A. no.297/2012 arising out of W.P (C)1022/1989 again directed the State governments and the respective High Courts to ensure implementation of the recommendation of the Justice Shetty Commission within December 31, 2015. However, despite all these directions, the State Government has shown no intention to fulfil the demands, Prasad lamented.
