All Assam Matak Yaba-Chatra Sanmilon submitted memorandum to CM

TINSUKIA: The principle on which the Tinsukia district administration resorted to eviction of illegal encroachment in and around Tinsukia town, the Tinsukia district committee of All Assam Matak Yaba-Chatra Sanmilon (AAMYCS) desired that in same ethos, the administration should also free all encroachments from the historical sites of Matok kingdom.
In a press meet at Tinsukia on Tuesday, Jintu Borgohain and Sanjay Gogoi president and secretary of AAMYCS, Tinsukia district committee stated that the organisation on several occasions raised its demands about encroachment in particular, but the administration paid no heed to their pleas. Referring to on-going demolition exercise, they said that administration also set examples by evicting illegal structures near Chawldhuwa Pukhuri, Tinkunia Pukhuri, Na-Pukhuri etc. Later the AAMYCS submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner Tinsukia highlighting 10 points charter of demands. The demands included inclusion of ST status to Matak community, political settlement of ULFA through dialogue, restoration and preservation of Matak historical sites besides others.
