LAKHIMPUR: Responding to the clarion call of the All Assam Students’ Union, the North Lakhimpur regional body of the organization once again stood by the poor families of Lakhimpur who have been adversely affected by the ongoing lockdown.
North Lakhimpur regional AASU president Pranjit Gogoi and general secretary Punamjyoti Gohain said that the activists of the organization on Saturday distributed food items among the needy families living at Mahara, Chamuagaon, Hindugaon, Lilabari, Angarkhowa and Nakari along with North Lakhimpur town. The organization distributed rice, dal, potato, onion, mustard oil and other essential commodities to the poor families during the relief drive undertaken. During the drive, the activists of the organization also sensitized the common people about the precautionary measures to be taken in order to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
