JAMUGURIHAT: In a blow to Sonitpur district All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and All Jamuguri unit of AASU, a large number of AASU activists joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday at Jamugurihat.

In this connection a meeting was held at Bapuji Bhavan, Jamugrihat which was chaired by Jayanta Bora, president of Naduar mandal BJP. Addressing the gathering, Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika said, "AASU activists are trying to misguide the Assamese nation. Many AASU leaders and CAA protesters are busy bargaining for personal gain.
