BONGAON: Members of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU) and All Rabha Women Council (ARWC) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through the Kamrup district’s Guardian Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary at Bongaon Sports Club during his visit on Wednesday to oversee the Bihu practice for the Guinness World Record at Sarusajai Stadium on 14th April.

In the memorandum, the organizations demanded justice for BSF constable Dhitashree Rabha who died under mysterious circumstances. The AASU, ARSU and ARWC demanded the Assam Government to ask the West Bengal government to probe the incident.

Dhitashree Rabha was from Dakuapara village under Boko Police Station and she was in Cooch Behar for a karate competition from BSF teams. She was found hanging on March 20.

South-West Kamrup Students’ Union president Manash Pratim Sharma said, “This is not a suicide, we suspect that this is a pre-planned murder and we need the Assam Government’s intervention for justice to BSF constable Dhitashree Rabha.”

Dibya Rabha, general secretary of ARSU Boko unit said, “If the government doesn’t respond to our request for Dhitashree Rabha’s justice, we will come out on the road to protest until her family gets justice.” Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary gave assurance that the government would look into the matter.
