Guwahati:
The All Assam Taekwondo Association (AATA) said that the association has
decided to set up five Taekwondo training centers in five districts of Assam,
the first one will be set up at Bishwanath Chariali.
The association's president, Arjun Chandra Barman was
sharing the association's plans to expand and popularise taekwondo in Assam.
The association has also demanded the appointment of permanent taekwondo
teachers in all the schools of Assam and called upon all the women to be
interested in Taekwondo as it will help them in self-defense.
AATA organized a felicitation and function at Champion
Maker Academy in Biswanath on Tuesday.

Niranjan Hazarika, the sports journalist of Axomiya Pratidin, a daily newspaper,
was honoured with the Special Sports Journalist Award of the Assam.
He was honoured with a gamocha, a memento, and a
certificate of appreciation.
Receiving the award, the journalist hoped that the
young generation of Assam will be able to create a new trend through Taekwondo.
He called for the spread of taekwondo in rural areas as well and said that
taekwondo plays a significant role in women's self-defense.
The event was
attended by Dr. Amal Saikia, one of the eminent physicians of Bishwanath,
Ranjan Das, Executive Director of All Assam Taekwondo Association, Hridayananda Das,
Director of Champion Maker Academy, and Dibyajyoti Borua president of
All Assam Taekwondo Association of Bishwanath District along with many
others.
