All Bodo Students' Union commemorates Bodofa on 66th birth anniversary

LAKHIMPUR: All the regional units of All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) under Dhemaji observed the 66th birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma by organizing unique programmes on Thursday.

The Jonai regional unit of the organization observed Students' Day (Chatra Divas) on this occasion at Maidangshree Bodo LP School premises. The agenda of the event began with the unfurling of organizational flag by president Mwjangasai Narzary while Dhemaji district unit ABSU public relation secretary Joynath Brahma garlanded the portrait of Bodofa. It was followed by a symposium on 'Quality Education and Skill Development' which commenced with Mwjangasai Narzary in the chair.

Taking part in the symposium as resource person, Dhemaji district unit dignitary Sourjit Narzary said, "Life and character can be shaped and success can be attained only when one educates oneself with quality education with a right outlook on life." He called upon the students to refrain from those activities which might divert them from the right path of life. Jonai unit All Bodo Women Welfare Federation (ABWWF) general secretary Minu Narzary was present in the event along with many other dignitaries of the community organizations.

On the other hand, Madhya Jonai regional unit of the ABSU commemorated Bodofa by observing the Students' Day with day-long programmes. In the event, president Mathuraj Mushahary unfurled the organizational flag and Dhemaji district unit ABSU assistant secretary Ajay Khaklary paid floral tribute to the portrait of Bodofa. Dhemaji district ABSU public relation secretary Bodofa Brahma delivered lecture on National Education Policy- 2020 (NEP-2020) attending the event. On the other hand, Dhemaji district unit Bodo Sahitya Sabha vice-president Paniram Daimary delivered speech on Utsav Vidyarambha under NEP-2020. Dhemaji district ABSU literature secretary Likhan Bodo was present in the event.

Similarly, the Simen Chapori regional unit of ABSU observed the Students' Day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at Naokata Bodo LP School. President Sanjib Ramsiyary unfurled the organizational flag in the event while chairman Manik Basumatary paid homage to Bodofa with floral tribute. It was followed by recitation competition among the students.

The public meeting organized on the occasion commenced with Sanjib Ramsiyary in the chair. It was inaugurated by Dhemaji district unit ABSU literature secretary Prasenjt Mushahary. Attending the event as chief guest, Dhemaji ABSU adviser Hiranya Swargiyary called upon the students to go ahead adhering to the noble ideology of Bodofa, who sacrificed himself by giving up selfish interest for the secure future of the Bodo community.
