KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) hailed the move of the State Government to make Raimona reserve forest with 422 sqr.km area, situated along Bhutan and West Bengal border in Kokrajhar district, a national park. The union also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving due importance to preservation and promotion of rich natural resources of the region. In a statement, the general secretary of the ABSU, Khanindra Basumatary said that the World Environment Day had brought good news for the people of BTR and Assam as the Government of Assam had declared Raimana Forest Reserve under Kachugaon Forest Division as Raimona National Park. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, for taking steps to conserve the biodiversity of Raimona.
