BOKO: Pradip Rabha, the general secretary of the All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU), stated that the BJP may encounter political issues and may curtail the party’s political activities in Rabha-populated districts. Rabha said, “We Rabha people are now enraged, and we advise them to be ready to face the political problems if they do not fulfil our demands.” “As the BJP-led state government did nothing in response to this kind of protest, we will be obliged to halt the BJP party’s political activity in Rabha-populated districts,” Rabha added. It should be noted that the All Rabha Students Union (ARSU), All Rabha Women Council (ARWC), Sixth Schedule Demand Committee (SSDC), and other Rabha groups held a two-hour protest on Monday outside the Circle offices in Boko and Dudhnai in support of the inclusion of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) and the Rabha Development Council for those Rabha tribal people living outside RHAC areas. Meanwhile, to fulfil the above mentioned demands, Rabha bodies already conducted ‘Joint Organizational Meeting’ at Dudhnai in Goalpara district on March 3 and in Boko on March 4.

Pradip Rabha alleged that the present BJP-led State government which was run before by former Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal promised inclusion of RHAC in the sixth schedule under Indian Constitution, but the same government, which has been almost ten years old, is still not fulfilling our demand. Rabha also added that the present BJP government which is now led by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also promised that those Rabha tribal people living outside the RHAC areas will get Rabha Development Council.
