KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro on Monday said all the members of National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) would return soon to the mainstream and be involved in community development. CEM Boro said, "The leaders along with cadres of the NLFB outfit have already realized and returned to the mainstream so far in two phases.

Boro made this statement on Monday while he was visiting various places in Bijni sub-division of Chirang district to take stock of the issues relating to developmental activities.

During his visit to the Sub-Division, he first held a review meeting with the sub-divisional heads of various departments to take stock of the developmental activities being done by them in the presence of Abhiram Mahanayak, Deputy Speaker, BTCLA (Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly, Executive Members (EM) Ranjit Basumatary, Dhanjay Basumatary, Additional Deputy Commissioner and in-charge Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Bijni, Dibakar Nath, in the conference hall of Bijni Sub-Divisional Officer's office at Bijni. This was followed by a visit to Bijni Bandhab Higher Secondary School, Ulubari high school, Veterinary office and Panbari High school.

He also inspected the ongoing construction site of Polytechnic College at Gargaon, erosion affected areas at Charapet, Dwimuguri and Malipara villages and interacted with the local people to assess the condition.

The CEM Boro said that infrastructures of some government offices, including educational institutions in Bijni sub-division need immediate repairing, so, all these would be done within two years by the BTC government. He also expressed hope that in the forthcoming assembly by-elections, the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) would make a friendly contest with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Gana Suraksha Party (GSP).

He was accompanied by EMs Ranjit Basumatary, Dhananjay Basumatary and some district leadership of UPPL of Bijni during his visit to the sub-division.
