LAKHIMPUR: The All Tai Ahom Students' Union (ATASU) will celebrate its 34th foundation day centrally in Lakhimpur on July 14 and July 15 with two-day long agenda. The event will be held under the auspices of the Lakhimpur district committee of the organization in its head office at Syu-Ka-Pha Samanway Kshetra, located at Petukajan near North Lakhimpur town. During the course of the programmes, the newly constructed office building of the Lakhimpur district committee of the organization will also be inaugurated.
On July 14, the agenda of the event will kickstart with a plantation drive which will be inaugurated by Pradip Gogoi, the president of the Lakhimpur district ATASU. In the evening, Ban-Fee programme will be conducted.
The second day agenda on July 15 will commence with the unfurling of organizational flag by ATASU central committee president Litul Burhagohain. It will be followed by swahid tarpan programme and garlanding of Syu-Ka-Pha portrait. Then Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka will inaugurate the Tai Cultural Research Centre, wherein Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah will be present as chief guest along with Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan. The open session of the event will be chaired by Litul Burhagohain. It will be inaugurated by ATASU central committee founder president Pramod Baruah. On the other hand, founder secretary Arun Gogoi will attend the programme as chief guest. Chairman of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Rukma Gohain Baruah will grace the occasion as appointed speaker. ATASU central committee and Lakhimpur district unit have appealed to the public to extend cooperation with their presence for the successful conduct of the event on the designated days.
