GAURISAGAR: Amguri MLA Prodip Hazarika on Friday briefed about his plans at a press meet held at Amguri Inspection Bungalow (IB). He told media persons that he had written a letter to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma demanding to recognize Amguri as subdivision.
He also spoke about the COVID situation in Amguri. He said that till date 106 COVID positive patients had been identified. Among them, three persons have already died. Total 4,026 people have been vaccinated. He also took stock of the COVID situation along with the local administration and visited Amguri Block PHC and COVID care centre and discussed with the Deputy Superintendent of the hospital. He also urged the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, Bishnu Kamal Borah to provide an ambulance and sufficient vaccines for the people of Amguri. At the same time he urged upon the Deputy Commissioner to ensure COVID vaccination in Amguri Tea Garden areas.
In the press meet, Prodip Hazarika told media persons that on priority basis he would complete the half-done works of the constituency like road construction, door-to-door water supply scheme, ongoing construction of Amguri Natya Mandir, Amguri Stadium and construction of naamghar in the constituency within six months. He also disclosed about the dream project of Amguri people – the 100MW Amguri solar project which would begin within one-and-half month. He also urged upon all to maintain friendly ties with the people of Nagaland so that people of both States could benefit from business development.
In the press meet, AGP Sivasagar district committee president Jiten Bharali, secretary Nityanonda Kalita and secretary of Asom Yuva Parishad, Sudarshan Hazarika were present.
