Amit Shah Arrives in Guwahati, Assam CM and Colleagues Welcomes Him

GUWAHATI: On Thursday afternoon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, met him at the airport, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI).

Along with other BJP state presidents and cabinet members, Ajanta Neog, Jayanta Mallabaruah, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia, and others, Amit Shah was greeted at the airport by BJP state president Bhabesh Kalita. Shah arrived in Guwahati and traveled to Koinadhora.

To commemorate the end of the two-year tenure of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP administration in Assam, the Union Home Minister traveled to the state on Thursday and arrived in Guwahati. To commemorate the occasion, he went to three events.

Shah is to attend events at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra and the Khanapara Veterinary College grounds.

The National Forensic Sciences University's Guwahati campus's foundation will also be officially opened later by the home minister. In the Kamrup district's Changsari, it is being constructed at Molong. By 2026 and 2030, respectively, the project's first and second phases were supposed to be finished.

Over 50 undergraduate, graduate, Ph.D., and post-doctoral programmes in forensic science, wildlife forensics, cyber security, narcotics, digital forensics, drone forensics, forensic psychology, and forensic justice and law will be offered at the campus, which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.

Additionally, all adjacent nations' judicial, law enforcement and forensic scientists will receive training at the Guwahati site. At the same location, Shah will also introduce the 'Sewa Setu' Assam police mobile app.

The software, which was created collaboratively by the Assam Police and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), would allow users to file FIRs, report missing persons, and verify rental agreements without going to the police station, among other things.

Shah will also be present for the ceremonial delivery of appointment letters to 44,703 qualified candidates for various government ministries during the final event, it should be mentioned.

The visit by the Union Home Minister to the state on May 11 to commemorate the end of Sarma's second term in office has been postponed because of the current law and order situation in Manipur.
