DIBRUGARH: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dibrugarh successfully organized an animal vaccination camp against Foot and Mouth, Hemorrhagic Septicemia and Black Quarter Disease at No.1.Kunwar Gaon of Khowang development block of Dibrugarh district on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion senior scientist and head of the kendra Dr Diganta Sharmah urged not to neglect the health of our household animals like cattle, cow, bullock, goat, pig, poultry etc because these animals can help our agricultural production and productivity both directly and indirectly and requested all farmers to remain alert to give due vaccination in time with the help of a concerned institute like district veterinary department, and KVK. Veterinary expert Dr Ananta Kalita who is also a successful entrepreneur in this field informed farmers that November and December is the best time to vaccinate farm animals and per year two vaccinations should be done.

This will ultimately help livestock farmers to prevent the huge loss of animal death against several diseases. Hemchandra Saikia an expert in Agricultural Economics and Farm Management informed the correspondent that Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dibrugarh always works for the betterment of agriculture in totality including livestock and other allied sector of farm economy so that their total income get enhanced to their desired level yielding better standard of living.

He informed that this very animal vaccination drive was done under the direct intervention and support of Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University Dr.B.C.Deka, Directorate of Extension Education of Assam Agricultural University Jorhat and ATARI Office Guwahati, respectively. Farmers of the locality thanked the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dibrugarh and Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat for fulfilling their demand for vaccinating their farm animal to supplement their total farm income satisfactorily.
