Bokajan: With an aim to raise awareness about the menace of drug abuse, the Bokajan administration organized an anti-drug rally as part of the three-day celebration of the 73rd Independence Day in Bokajan on Wednesday.

The rally was attended by a number of students, volunteers and prominent citizens of Bokajan town. The rally was flagged off by the Subdivisional Officer (Civil) Satish Ch. Thakuria from Bokajan Higher Secondary School. The Officer in-charge of Bokajan Police Station, Dimbeshwar Thakuria also participated in the awareness rally.

Speaking on the anti-drug rally, the SDO(C) urged the participants to spread awareness about the menace of drug abuse. He also laid stress on the ill-effects of drug abuse and the harm drugs cause to the individual and society. “Drug abuse has been plaguing the young generation and generating awareness about the menace is of paramount importance. We have to collectively play a role in eradicating this threat and fight the menace of drug abuse,” he added.
