Anundoram Borooah Award distributed across Assam

KOKRAJHAR: Along with other districts of the State, a total of 209 students who passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC)/Assam High Madrasa examination, 2022 by securing star marks and distinction marks, were given the Anundoram Borooah Award at the auditorium of Kajalgaon High School under the initiative of the district administration and district education department of Chirang district on Wednesday. This year's Anundoram Borooah Award includes a financial incentive of Rs 16,000 and a certificate of appreciation.

Attending as chief guest in the award ceremony, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary ceremonially distributed the awards to the students. He expressed concern over the low pass rate in the 2022 HSLC exam in the district and urged the officials of the education department to improve this rate in the coming days.

BTC Executive Member of Forest Department, Ranjit Basumatary, Council Member Pradeep Kumar Bayan, Deputy Commissioner P Vijay Bhaskar Reddy and Additional Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Sharma also spoke on the occasion.

Tezpur: Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, etc., Jogen Mohan on Wednesday attended the Anundoram Borooah award programme held at Baan Theatre in Tezpur and ceremoniously distributed cheques to six students of the district who had scored 75 per cent and above in the recently held HSLC/ High Madrassa 2022 examinations.

Altogether 695 students from the district have qualified for the award, out of which 426 secured star marks while 269 students secured distinction marks.

The amount of Rs 16,000 was directly transferred to the respective bank accounts of the students through DBT by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from the state-level programme held at Sankardev Kalakshetra auditorium on Wednesday. Speaking at the programme, minister Jogen Mohan asked the students to aspire to excel in their academic career and take inspiration from the illustrious life of Anundoram Borooah.
