Anundoram Borooah Award distributed at Nagaon district library auditorium

Minister of State Public Health and Engineering Department, Jayanta Malla Boruah inaugurated the ceremonial distribution of ‘Anundoram Borooah Award’ meritorious award’ among the brilliant students of Nagoan and Hojai districts respectively who secured 75 percent and above in the last HSLC examination at Nagaon district library auditorium on Wednesday.

NAGAON: Minister of State Public Health and Engineering Department, Jayanta Malla Boruah inaugurated the ceremonial distribution of ‘Anundoram Borooah Award’ meritorious award’ among the brilliant students of Nagoan and Hojai districts respectively who secured 75 percent and above in the last HSLC examination at Nagaon district library auditorium on Wednesday.

The programme was organized by Nagoan and Hojai district Education Department in association with district administration. The minister distributed the award among four meritorious students and leaving the rest to the district administration for distribution.

A total of 1,572 meritorious students from Nagaon have been nominated for the award this time while 586 students have been nominated for the same from Hojai district.

As per an official release, each of the meritorious students who secured 75 percent and above in HSLC examination 2023 will be awarded with Rs 15,000 under ‘Anundoram Barooah Award’. The money of the award will be transferred via their respective account numbers soon.

District Commissioner Narendra Kr Shah delivered the welcome address during the ceremonial award distribution programme while local MLA Rupak Sarma, Raha MLA Sashi Kanta Das, District Commissioner, Hojai Lasit Das, Additional Commissioner, Education, Nagoan Lakshya Jyoti Das, Inspector of Schools, Nagaon Mridul Kr Nath and other officials from district administration as well as district education department participated in the programme.
