LAKHIMPUR: The Anundoram Borooah Award, sponsored by the Education Department of the State, was conferred to 105 meritorious students of Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district, who passed the HSLC exam with flying colours in 2019.
A ceremonial programme was organized on this occasion at Dhakuakhana Model HS School on Saturday. The programme was inaugurated by Ranju Gogoi, the assistant manager of AMTRON. Notably, a laptop computer with Geo-fy connection and a citation were extended to the awardees. The PDF files of the textbooks of Science, Arts and Commerce streams of the Higher Secondary Course are incorporated in the computers. A total of 77 students studying in Science stream, 27 students in Arts stream and 1 student studying in Commerce stream under the subdivision received the computers. The programme was attended by Dhakuakhana Model HS School Principal Kalpana Gogoi, Dhakuakhana Girls' School headmaster Prafulla Chutiya, academician Dr. Keshab Hazarika and professor Amal Chandra Dutta as guests of honour. In the same event, a team of engineers, led by computer service engineer Pranjit Borah, conducted a training on the operation of the computers.
