APDCL installs over 50,000 smart meters under Advanced Meter Infrastructure Project

LAKHIMPUR: The ADAR India Pvt. Ltd. celebrated installation of over 50,000 Smart Meters for Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL) in Assam AMI (Advanced Meter Infrastructure) Project. According to the company, this significant milestone has marked a major step forward in enhancing energy management and efficiency in the Assam region.

In this connection, Kamal Hasan, Assistant General Manager, APDCL, CAR, Swapnajit Konwar, Sub-Divisional Engineer, APDCL, CAR, Vinay Kumar, Circle-in-Charge (North Lakhimpur), Intelli Smart Infrastructure Private Limited, Ritu Gigoo, Head-Business Development, ADAR India Private Limited, and Rajdeep Bhaduri, General Manager (Operation) ADAR India Private Limited addressed a press conference at North Lakhimpur Press Club on Wednesday.

Addressing the media persons, Ritu Gigoo and Rajdeep Bhaduri said, “The Assam AMI Project aims to revolutionize the distribution and consumption of electricity by deploying cutting-edge smart metering technology across the State. ADAR India Pvt. Ltd. was selected as the trusted partner to implement this ambitious project and has successfully completed the installation of over 50,000 smart meters in for one of their leading client Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL).”

Referring to the benefits of the smart meter, they further said, “The installation of these smart meters will empower consumers with real-time information, enabling them to monitor and optimize their energy usage. The smart meters will provide accurate data on energy consumption, promote efficient billing practices, and pave the way for demand response programs, ultimately leading to improved operational efficiency and reduced carbon footprint.”

According to the company, the smart meters installed by ADAR India Pvt. This enables seamless data collection, remote monitoring, and the ability to implement energy-saving measures effectively. Furthermore, the project has generated employment opportunities for local communities, as ADAR India Pvt. Ltd. actively engaged and trained local technicians to ensure the smooth installation and operation of the smart meters.
