APDCL Proposes New Tariff For 2022, Check out The Revised Price

Guwahati: In a bid to meet its requirement of Rs 8367.68 crore, the Assam Power Distribution Company Limits (APDCL) has proposed a hike in retail tariff for 2022-23.

The hike will undoubtedly hit hard the household consumers, who from 93 percent of the company's consumer base.

As per the proposed tariff, the domestic consumers will have to pay Rs 6.75 per kwh as variable charge for the first 120 units per month, which will be an increase of Rs 1.85/kwh. It has also been proposed to raise the fixed charge components together would be Rs 81.75 against the current amount of Rs 54.90.

The consumption between 120 to 240 units will attract variable charge of 7.90 as compare to Rs 6.15, while the consumption above 240 units will attract variable charge of Rs 8.40 as compare to Rs 7.15.

For Domestic B consumers, a hike of Rs 1.50 has been proposed and the increased charges are Rs 75 fixed charges and Rs 8.25 variable charges.

Notably, the per-unit charges have been proposed to increase from the present Rs 4.25 to Rs 6.00 for those customers availing Jeevan Dhara subsidy.

Meanwhile, for the high tension consumers with connection above 150 kVA category, the fixed charge has been raised by Rs 100.

For variable charge component that depends on the extent of power consumption by any consumer, the highest increase of Rs 2.25 has been proposed also for the option 1 industries with a connection load of above 150 kVA category consumers.
