HOWRAGHAT: Regional political party 'All Party Hills Leader Conference' held a massive rally at Diphu town on Monday, demanding annulment of the recently concluded 'Election to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, 2022' as non sixth scheduled people of this district participated in this ballot vote.

JI Kathar president of APHLC told the local media that a case is pending in Gauhati High Court where his party is contesting for scrapping the voting rights of non sixth scheduled people from the election of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, moreover the recent election was conducted when the matter is subjudice.

Approximately ten thousand supporters of APHLC marched to the streets of Diphu town shouting slogans and condemning ruling BJP and RSS before culminating in Semsonsing Ingti memorial park.

The APHLC activists moreover demanded scrapping the voting right of non sixth scheduled people, cancellation of trading license of non sixth scheduled people, cancellation of land patta of non sixth scheduled people and deportation of Bangladeshi nationals. The APHLC party contested in all the twenty six Member of Autonomous Council seats of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council 22' for which the election was held. The party suffered defeats in a number of seats with trivial differences.

In the ratio of vote sharing the party clinched a large number of votes surpassing regional party Autonomous State Demand Committee and Congress. Right now the party is the leading political opposition of ruling BJP and a force to be reckoned with.

Politically cognizant segments feel that the APHLC with its substantial support base is a political powerhouse and has the capability of hitting the opponents with lots of ability.
