Army honours COVID-19 warriors at Pothorughat in Darrang district

MANGALDAI: In consonance with the concerted decision taken to commemorate contribution of COVID-19 frontline warriors, a wreath-laying ceremony was organized at the historic Krishak Swahid Memorial at Pothorughat in Darrang district by the Army unit of the district on Sunday.

The solemn occasion was organized not just to remember the sacrifice of the peasants during the freedom struggle but to also felicitate symbolic representatives of medical services, police, fire fighting departments and media, who have emerged as steadfast bastion of resilience and patriotism.

The army offered felicitation on Subdivisional Medical Officer of Patharighat, Dr Syed Atiqul Hoque, Sub Officer of Mangaldai Fire and Emergency services station, Mangaldai ASI Milson Daimary, in-charge of Burha Police outpost, SI Oli Kumar Dusad and media persons Lakshya Dhar Saikia and Pranjal Mahanta with traditional phulam Bihuwan, xarai and face masks stitched by ex-women insurgent cadres.

GOSSAIGAON: An Army unit of Red Horn Division organized a band display at Srirampur Police Check Post located on NH-27 along the border of West Bengal and Assam to express gratitude to corona warriors for their selfless service. The military tunes played by the Army Band brought cheer on the faces of the medical staff and police officials who are manning the entry points of north-eastern States since the beginning of pandemic outbreak.
