Lumding (Assam): Activists of BJP's youth wing staged a protest rally against Maharashtra government and demanded immediate release of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami. The members of BJP's Yuva Manch burnt effigy of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackery.

The protesters were agitated not just about the arrest but also the manner in which Goswami was treated while being arrested. They said that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena government of Maharashtra has conspired against Goswami. They also said that if he is not released at the earliest then BJP's Yuva Manch would launch protests at district and state levels and not sit tight till he is released.

One of the BJP activists said, "Republic TV Editor-in-Chef Arnab Goswami has been arrested very unfairly by Mumbai police. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his government is doing a conspiracy. Through this youth rally we protest against Maharashtra government and we demand for the release of Arnab Goswami."

"Today we are holding the rally in our area, tomorrow we will do it at the district level and then it will be at the state level and if required we will protest against Maharashtra Government at the Central level as well until they release Arnab Goswami," the BJP activist said.
