Guwahati: In a recent development, a resident of Buka village in the Kimin administrative circle of Papum Pare district, Arunachal Pradesh, was reportedly attacked by villagers in Assam on Sunday evening.

The victim identified as one Likha Nikh was on his way home when the incident occurred. Notably, residents of Buka village regularly use the road that passes through Assam.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kimin, Likha Tejji, confirmed the incident and informed that the victim has lodged an FIR at the Dolahat police station.

"There are constant reports of people from Assam side harassing the Arunachalees who use the road that passes through Assam territory. The constant harassment of Arunachalees has become a matter of serious concern," Tejji stated.

Buka, one of the oldest villages of Papum Pare district, has witnessed its fair share of residents migrating to safer places because of the alleged harassment by the people and officials of Assam.
