ASHA workers and supervisors felicitated at convention in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: With a view to encourage the ASHA workers, under the aegis of Sivasagar District Health Samiti, ‘ASHA Convention’ was organized at the Milan Mandir Auditorium in Sivasagar on Wednesday. ASHA workers and ASHA Supervisors who had shown exemplary performance in fulfilling their job responsibilities were also felicitated on the occasion.

Dr Mandira Baruah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health), Sivasagar inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his welcome address, Dr Bhupendra Kumar Das, Joint Director of Health Services, Sivasagar said that ASHAs are the backbone of the health department and the contribution of ASHA workers is immense in making every scheme effective under the health department.

Dr Mandira Baruah, in her speech said that ASHA workers have been cooperating with the health department as well as other departments from time to time and conveyed heartiest greetings to them.

The event was also attended by Additional Chief Medical Officer of Sivasagar district, Dr Chandralekha Saikia, District Immunization Officer Dr Arundhati Bora Hazarika, and others.
