Asha workers stage protest in Demow Block Primary Health Centre

DEMOW: The Asha workers protested in front of Demow Block Primary Health Centre in Demow Chariali on Tuesday in support of various demands.

Their demands included proper salary for Asha workers, regularization of the jobs of Asha workers, pension facilities for 60+ Asha workers. Talking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Asha workers alleged that in the Budget session, State Finance Minister Ajanta Neog did not mention anything about Asha workers. She only spoke about Anganwadi workers and hence, the Asha workers staged the protest. Later, the Asha workers submitted a memorandum to the Demow Circle Officer listing their demands.
