NAGAON: AGP Nagaon Sadar LAC unit led by former minister and MLA of the constituency, Girindra Kr Boruah took the decision to support BJP candidate for the Nagaon parliamentary constituency, Rupak Sarma in the forthcoming LS polls, at a meeting held on Monday.
In the meeting held at the office of the Sadar Anchalik of the regional party, the workers and other leaders of the party finally brushed aside all discontent in connection with the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and took the decision to campaign for BJP candidate Rupak Sarma in the constituency. Opposing the renewal of the alliance with the BJP, Girindra Kumar Boruah had earlier resigned from the central executive of AGP. But with the political scenario slowly changing, Boruah as well as the other dignitaries of the regional party also changed their stand and decision.
