Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad Stages Protest in Biswanath Chariali

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Biswanath Chariali branch staged a three-hour sit-in on Wednesday against the decision of the State Government to teach Mathematics and Science subjects in the English language from Class VI onwards in the Assamese medium schools of the state.

The organization also demanded immediate appointment of teachers in primary schools. The protest was held in front of the office of the student body at Biswanath Chariali. Several other local student organizations also attended the demonstration.

The members of the organization criticized the government in the State and warned of strong agitation if their demands are not met. The student body opined that the government move will decrease the relevance of Assamese and other vernacular languages in the State.
