GAURISAGAR: Dhrubajyoti (Bhim) Kalita, a resident of Gaurisagar Naamdang Kumar Gaon in the Sivasagar district, an executive member of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Sivasagar district committee and adviser of its Gaurisagar Regional committee, passed away on the day of Garu Bihu due to critical disease. He was 31.

He was the only son of Bhadreswar Kalita and Puspa Kalita. His demise was widely mourned in the entire Gaurisagar area. People from various walks of life gathered at his house and paid tribute. A shraddhanjali function was held where AJYCP Sivasagar District Committee, Gaurisagar Regional Committee, AASU, Gaurisagar Regional Unit, Triluchan Sanskritic Mancha, Gaurisagar, Naamdang Kumar Gaon Bornaamghar Parichalana Samiti, Sankar Madhab Natyagosthi among various organizations, individuals paid floral tribute to his body. He is survived by his parents and two married sisters. The untimely demise of the the youth dimed the enthusiasm of Rongali Bihu in entire Gaurisagar area. His last rites were performed at the bank of Dikhow River in presence of a huge gathering.
