Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha observed birth anniversary of poet Bhanubhakta Acharya

UDALGURI: Under the aegis of the Udalguri district committee of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha, the Nepali pioneer poet, Bhanubhakta Acharya was remembered on his 207th birth anniversary.

Litterateur Tarapati Upadhyaya paid tribute to Bhanubhakta Acharya by lighting a lamp. A commemoration meeting was held under the president ship of Gayatri Bhattarai where Tarapati Upadhyaya spoke about the life and works of Bhanubhakta Acharya. Puspadhar Sarma, the Principal of Udalguri HS School and also a litterateur, Bidyapati Dahal, literary pensioner, and Baidyanath Upadhyaya read out poems in Nepali.

The result of the online Nepali poem recitation competition was also announced on the occasion. Indira Goutam won first prize, Padma Devi Upadhyaya won second prize and Kalpana Chhetry bagged the third prize.
