SIVASAGAR: There had been frequent allegations that illegal entry of Arunachal Pradesh-made liquor into Assam resulted in huge revenue losses to the excise department. This time the Asomiya Yuva Mancha (AYM) central committee has alleged that a man named Raj Kumar Singh has been running a lucrative business of liquor from Arunachal Pradesh.

In a press release signed by president Jadav Gogoi, in-charge secretary Dharmakanta Gogoi, and assistant secretary Akash Saikia of the AYM central committee, it has been alleged that under the leadership of Raj Kumar Singh, liquor from Arunachal Pradesh was being sent to various parts of Assam, and states like Nagaland, West Bengal, Bihar etc.

It was also stated that at a time when the Assam Government has imposed excessive taxes on various commodities in terms of revenue collection, this unscrupulous businessman was running an illegal business by evading taxes. Moreover, the Mancha also alleged that Singh was selling Arunachal-made liquor by changing labels on different occasions. The Manch demanded that Singh should be arrested immediately and strict action should be taken against him.
