Asomiya Yuva Mancha opposes delimitation of constituencies in Demow

DEMOW: The representatives of Asomiya Yuva Mancha, All Tai Ahom Students’ Union, All Tea Tribes Students’ Association, All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam, Tai Yuva Chatra Parishad, Congress Party, Raijor Dal and AJP organized a press meet in the auditorium of Demow Press Club on Saturday afternoon regarding the delimitation of constituencies. Jadab Gogoi, president of Asomiya Yuva Mancha (AYM), Central Committee strongly opposed the delimitation of constituencies and as the two constituencies, Amguri Constituency and Lahowal Constituency of Upper Assam have been eliminated where indigenous people live. Biswanath Nag, secretary of ATTSA, Demow branch said, “We think that Election Commission of India is impartial and democratic.” Binod Konwar, secretary of Sivasagar District Congress Party criticized the present Government and alleged that this Government is against the indigenous people.
