Assam: 1000 kgs of Lablab beans produced by Sivasagar farmers district exported to London

For the second time, 1000 kilograms of Lablab Beans (Urohi) produced by the farmers of Dihingparia FPC in Nitaipukhuri of Sivasagar district were exported to London on the first day of Magh (January 15).

DEMOW: For the second time, 1000 kilograms of Lablab Beans (Urohi) produced by the farmers of Dihingparia FPC in Nitaipukhuri of Sivasagar district were exported to London on the first day of Magh (January 15). Taking to X (formerly Twitter), State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora  on January 16 night wrote, “Good News for Assam’s agriculture sector on the first day of Magh! 1,000 kg of Lablab Beans (Urohi) produced by the farmers of Dihingparia FPC in Nitaipukhuri, Sivasagar district was exported to London. This is the second consignment exported by the FPC as 500 kg of Urohi was exported recently. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the officials of Horticulture Department of Government of Assam, concerned officials of Sivasagar District Agriculture Department, APART and every farmer involved in the production of Urohi. We are confident that under the strong leadership of Hon’ble CM Dr@himantabiswa, we will be able to initiate a new revolution in the agricultural economy of Assam by further increasing this trend of crop exports in the coming days.”

 Taking to the X, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 17 wrote,“Glad to learn about the export of 1,000 kg of Lablab Beans, locally known as Urohi to London. The demand of Assam’s agri products in the international market speaks volumes about the hard work put by our farmers and our government’s commitment to overhaul our agriculture sector.”
