Assam: 14-Year-Old Gang Raped, Two Arrested

GUWAHATI: A horrifying matter came to light on 5th of February, Sunday, from Assam's Dibrugarh district. Police informed that two individuals have been nabbed for involvement in an alleged gang rape of a minor girl.

The accused has been identified by the officials as, Safar Ali and Bhaijaan Ali. The minor girl was recovered in an unconscious state near Athabari tea garden, stated the SP of Dibrugarh, Shwetank Mishra. As per sources, the accused duo will be charged under IPC section 376 of the POSCO Act of 2012.

The SP further informed that, the victim was tied up with a rope, and it has been suspected that she was gang raped by the culprits. According to the reports, the minor girl was missing since 3rd of February.

The family members of the minor girl informed police that, the victim was kidnapped by two people and she was missing for two days. They claimed that, the 14 year old was raped by the duo for multiple times, during this phase. As soon as a complaint was filed by the family, concerned department initiated the search and nabbed the evil headed.

Further, the girl has been admitted in a hospital for medical attention. The Superintendent informed that, the accused will be presented before the court, following the completion of investigation.

A similar monstrous episode came to light from Assam's Nagaon district on 4th of February, Saturday. A lady was physically molested and raped by a gang of individuals in a moving vehicle. The incident took place in Bhomoraguri village, located near Batadrava Tehsil. The accused has been identified as Rokibul alias Gulzar Hussain along with Tafazul Hussain.

The incident came forth after the victim's family registered an FIR regarding the matter in the local police department. As per the information, the accused duo also terrorised the woman about harmful consequences if she opens her mouth in front of anyone. It is worth mentioning here that, one of the criminal named Gulzar Hussain, is also the current President of Bhomoraguri village panchayat.
