Assam: 16-Year-Old Maid Found Dead at Employer's House In Sivsagar

GUWAHATI: A 16-year-old teenage maid was mysteriously found dead at her employer's house in Assam's Sivsagar district.

As per reports, the deceased who hailed from Deuriting village under Nemuguri police station, had been working as a housemaid at the residence of one Loknath Gogoi and Ranu Gogoi in Jaisagar area for the past two years.

Notably, post the incident the victim's family members claimed that she was pregnant, however, the actual cause of her death is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, the All Assam Tea Tribe Students Association (ATTSA) has already lodged an FIR demanding an investigation into the matter.

The body of the victim girl was later sent for an autopsy, police informed.

Earlier this month, a man accused of murder was allegedly burnt alive during a public hearing in the in Assam's Nagaon district.

The incident took place during a public hearing, on Saturday when the man identified as Ranjit Bordoloi, a resident of Bor Lalung Gaowas accused of murdering a woman.

The woman reportedly died under unnatural circumstances a few days back.

Since the accused was found guilty of the murder, a group of people took the matter into their own hands and burn the man alive. They also buried the corpse.
