Assam: 24 persons arrested for child marriage in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: As many as 24 persons have been picked up during the crackdown against child marriage in Kokrajhar from various locations of the district within 24-hours. According to Additional SP of Kokrajhar Nabanita Sharma as many as 24 persons were picked up from different locations in connection with the child marriage case since last night.

Sources said the arrested persons under Gossaigaon policed station were identified as Aridul Hoque, Jamser Ali, Maharuddin Sheik, Ahidul Islam, Md. Hanif Ali, Abdul Hoque, Shah Alom Sheik and Tamsher Ali and the arrested persons under Kokrajhar police station are Mehbul Islam of Tintilla, Md. Julfiqur Mandol of Choto Bhadiayaguri, Md. Aster Ali and Md. Ayub Ali, both from Salakati Bazar. However, the names of other arrested persons from different police stations were not received till the filling of this report.
