GUWAHATI: A one-horned rhino wandered out of the Eastern Range Gamiri within the Biswanath wildlife division, Kaziranga National Park in Assam on Thursday, injuring up to four persons.

The rhino that escaped the Kaziranga National Park attacked four persons, including our forest staff, according to Pranjal Gogoi, a forest ranger in Gohpur, who was speaking to Pratidin Time. Our forest rangers used airborne blank fire to scare the animal away.
All of the injured people were initially sent to Biswanath civic hospital for treatment; however, for better care, they were eventually transferred to Lakhimpur Medical College Hospital (LMCH).
It should be mentioned that two forest authorities were severely injured earlier this month when they were assaulted by a one-horned rhino in the Golaghat region of Assam.
It was Mohima Gaon that reported the event. Soon after that, forest officials were contacted, and efforts were undertaken to tame the animal.
District Forest Officer (DFO) Sushil Kumar Thakuria and another official were hurt during the incident when they were charged by the rhino. After the event, the injured were taken immediately to a hospital for treatment.
A rhino attacked a person at Kuruabahi in Assam's Bokakhat district in December of last year, resulting in his death. According to sources, the man was working in his agricultural field when the rhino attacked him.
